General Questions
What sizes do you have available?
We offer Kid, Twin, Full, Queen, and King sizes. Please note that these sizes do not match traditional comforters sizes. You can find out more about our sizing in our Sizing Guide.
What is the difference between your Cotton and Cooling Bamboo Weighted Blanket?
The Original Weighted Blanket is 100% Cotton and is a 'crowd-favorite'. Our Cooling Bamboo is 100% Lyocell Bamboo and is great for warm to hot sleepers!
Is your Weighted Blanket Bundle Set the same as the Cotton or Cooling Bamboo Weighted Blanket?
No. Our Weighted Blanket Bundles come with one Weighted Blanket and two covers (one fleece and one thermo-regulating). The Bundle Set is made with CoolMax technology, which is a series of polyester fabrics developed to be moisture-wicking and breathable.
Which blanket is right for me?
We have four different types of weighted blankets. Our Cotton Weighted Blanket is 100% Cotton and is our fan-favorite. It's perfect year round.
Our Cooling Bamboo Weighted Blanket is 100% Bamboo and is perfect for our warm to hot sleepers.
Our Weighted Blanket Bundle Sets are made out of CoolMax Technology, which is a series of polyester fabrics that are designed to be moisture-wicking and thermoregulating. They're great for our customers that are looking for the best bang for their buck!
Finally, our Sherpa Weighted Blanket is the coziest (and the warmest) of them all. It's great on the couch or on your bed.
I sleep hot under my traditional comforter. Won't this be the same?
If you tend to get sweaty while you sleep, we definitely recommend getting our Cooling Bamboo and using it without a traditional comforter or flat sheet. It's extra breathable, silky, and will allow for that restful sleep you've been dreaming of.
Can I put my Luna in the washing machine?
Yes, you can! To avoid frequent washing, we recommend purchasing one of our Luna Blanket Covers.
-
Wash it separately in cold water
-
Select the delicate cycle
-
Use gentle or mild detergent
-
Tumble dry on low heat or line dry
As always, please check your washing machine's weight capacity before washing your blanket. If the weight is too much for your machines, we recommend taking your Luna to a laundromat :)
Can I use a regular duvet cover with my Luna?
No. Because our weighted blankets are designed to be smaller than traditional comforters, regular duvet covers will be too big. The only covers that we know are a perfect fit for your Luna are the ones that we create :)
Do you recommend two separate blankets for couples or those who are sharing?
That's up to personal preference! We definitely only recommend our King when you're sharing, as the other sizes will definitely be too small, but some of our customers who share actually like to have their own blanket instead (no blanket hogs here!).
In that case, we recommend each person purchases a Full or Queen depending on your height. As always, if you have any sizing questions, you can send us an email at support@lunablanket.com for further assistance or check out our Sizing Guide.
Is the weighted blanket meant to replace my traditional comforter?
Yes, no, maybe? That's up to you! Some of our customers like using their Luna all by itself (it's definitely warm enough!), while others like using it with a flat sheet or comforter. If you need extra warm or coziness, you can definitely use an additional blanket, but it's definitely not required.
Why are your blankets smaller than my traditional comforters?
Weighted blankets can replace traditional comforters, but they're not meant to be them. What do we mean by this? Weighted Blankets are designed to cover your body and not a larger surface area, because we want the weight to rest on your body and not your entire bed! That would affect which weight to choose and make things very confusing!
We have standard sizes available, but they're generally meant to only cover the top of your bed, so they will not hang off the edges. All blankets will be approximately the measurements you see in our Size Guide. It's not abnormal to see a blanket that's .5-1 inch off in size or .5-1 pound off in weight.
