Our co-founder Robin didn’t always live a well-rested life. She chased big-city dreams and found herself working long, stressful hours at a hedge fund in New York. The lifestyle’s anxiety and overwhelm affected her sleep, and her lack of sleep affected her anxiety and overwhelm, and she knew the loop would continue forever if she didn’t fix it herself. Overall, she was unfulfilled, overworked, and incredibly sleep-deprived.

She tried everything to optimize her rest: melatonin in every form, sound machines, apps, smart devices, and meditation. As she searched for better sleep aids, she eventually stumbled upon several studies from the 90s, detailing the benefits of sleeping under weight.

She immediately dove into the weighted blanket world and started falling asleep quicker, staying asleep, and sleeping more deeply as she introduced them to her nightly routine. She tried different weighted blanket brands but eventually decided to innovate a better one herself and named it Luna.
